Welcome To BIRDSEEKERS Holidays
Welcome to the Birdseekers online brochure which features a range of birdwatching tours aimed at both beginners and experts alike, with an emphasis on seeing birds and wildlife well, while maintaining very high standards and putting all our efforts into providing the very best value for money tours on the market.
NOTE: 2009 tours are being added to the web site in July 2008 as the 2009 brochure is being finalized. Book early as these tours are already beginning to fill!!
After 10 years of running birdwatching holidays we have had time to reflect on the ever changing market within which we work. Although we have built a reputation of producing often exceptional bird lists to many of the countries we visit, we want to be sure everyone has the enjoyment of looking at the bird properly. With this in mind, we feel it is time to get back to what we started out doing so well, and actually enjoy the birding experience – rather than race around and try to build a huge list.
OK, we will still have some of those tours for the more intrepid birders amongst us, but it is a big world and there are many other ways to have an exciting yet bird-filled holiday. We are introducing some more laid back holidays, often one-centre destinations in order to get the best from a site. We want you to enjoy birding as much as we do – plain and simple!
Have you ever wondered why some birding groups aren’t smiling? Well possibly it’s because they are too tired and stressed! Let’s get away from that scenario and have some fun. Our leaders and guides are amongst the sharpest in the world and even on a relaxed tour we often see many more species than our rivals. It is also nice to know that on a Birdseekers tour all of our participants see 98% of the birds, something we have always prided ourselves on. We always know who’s missed what and do our utmost to get everyone to see everything. Conversations this year have made us realise that many companies who chase numbers of birds only actually get a few of their group on each species so as it gets counted on their tour total.
Once again we have come up some exciting new tours, and our 2008 programme looks to be the most attractive we’ve ever done. New destinations include a tour to Lake Baikal in Siberia where we are set to run one of the most exhilarating tours to an area that can produce a mouth-watering variety of species that are all on British birders most wanted list. Our tour to Eaglesnest was so successful in 2007 that we have had many enquiries, and we look forward to showing everyone all the most sought after species usually associated with the very expensive Bhutan. Why would you pay twice as much to see the same birds?
Our Tanzania tour is a must for the complete wild Africa experience, seeking out many endemics and critically endangered species of birds as well as an extravaganza of mammals. We have tours with additional extensions in Chile, Brazil, Ecuador, Eastern Himalayas and Alaska and to complement our fine tuned programme of tours, we are now in the process of putting together the Birdseekers “Natural Selection” a compilation of trips that include Dragonflies, Butterflies, Bats, Mammals, Reptiles, Cetaceans, Flowers, Photographic tours, Customised and Target Species Tours and the already very popular Easy Pace Tours.
