2009 Tour Pricing and Flights
Explaining the new system of pricing our tours and why!
Back to Terms and Conditions>>
Please note of particular importance the new pricing structure for our 2009 tours. With the uncertainties of fuel increases and escalating airport taxes and the unpredictability of flight costs nowadays we have had to take measures to offset our losses in this volatile market. To remain competitive we have decided to show our tours with the main costs from destination airport to destination airport.
Basically this means that we have now excluded the flight cost from the UK from our tour pricing. We are still very happy to book your flight from a UK airport to coincide with the beginning and end of each tour but we can no longer guarantee a concrete price for each flight until it is actually booked.
Within our brochure you will see a provisional flight cost based on figures received by 01.07.08. These provisional flight costs can and will change and maybe lower but more likely higher than advertised. As we are trying to explain, flight costs are now so unpredictable that they literally change minute by minute and it is impossible to include within our tour price. With many people wanting to go from local airports, or to extend tours either at the beginning or end, we have already been working outside the boundaries of our advertised tours and, until now, we have still refrained from passing additional tour supplements on to you. Our new brochure costing will now allow you to either search out and book your own flights, thus allowing you flexibility as to when and which route you fly, or have us book your flight as close to the provisional advertised cost that we can get.
The advantages of our new system are that you may get a reduced cost flight, you will be able to take advantage of air-miles etc, you may also get holiday insurance included with certain airline bookings, you can go from local airports and extend your tour to suit yourselves.
What we will insist if booking your own flights is that you meet the group by the designated time on the date suggested. Please DO NOT book any flights until you are given a time, date and place to meet. Most often we will require you to be at
the destination airport at least 1 hour before the commencement of the tour, and when departing make sure your time is no earlier than instructed. We can also book overnight accommodations for you which has become an increasing trend, allowing you to recover from the journey and be sure of meeting everyone at the designated time.
Please refer to our Terms and Conditions, and note that a £30 booking fee for either flight or extra hotel accommodation will be included in your invoice should you wish Birdseekers to do the booking for you. Also note that all tour itineraries will still show first and last days from London – London for simplification.
